Mexico City
Cycle path just outside of Mexico City.
The Zocalo, the main square in Mexico City is a focus of activity for street performers.  Here rhythmical Aztec dances are being performed to the sound of drums and the rattles of a kind of leg warmer made of shells.
A more modern street act.
This guy burns mixtures of incense and other items which he claims can cure a number of ailments.
Volodores perform an ancient religious rite which involves five men climbing to the top of a pole to a square wooden frame.  Four of them attach themselves to ropes and launch backwards, revolving slowly around the pole and gradually descending as the rope unwinds to an eerie whistle and drumbeat played by the fifth man.
There is a ceremony every evening just before sunset when the giant Mexican flag, which flies over the Zocalo, is lowered, folded and carried into the National Palace for the night.
