| San Ignacio and Cave Paintings |
| San Ignacio. It is striking to see the change in scenery caused by a river; from desert to palm forests within a few miles. |
| We even got to do some boating. |
| We hired this old banger to drive to Santa Marta to see some ancient cave paintings. Half way up a hill the accelerator pedal fell off. Luckily we managed to fix it. There is very little traffic on these roads so we could have been there for a very long time. |
| After a two hour drive we parked the car and set out on foot with a local guide. |
| Our guide, Ramon. One of the few people on this trip who claimed to enjoy a taste of Beth's marmite. |
| The cave paintings. Any ideas on what the black balls balanced on these people's biceps might be? - We would like to know. |
| The road back from the cave paintings. When we made it back the owner of the car confessed he had never completed a full journey without it breaking down at some point. Plans were already afoot for a rescue party. |
